The formal admission requirements for acceptance as a doctoral candidate at the Faculty WM are regulated in
§ Section 4 of the Doctoral Regulations, General Provisions of the TU, in the version of the tenth amendment of 13 October 2017

§ 2 of the Doctoral Degree Regulations, Special Provisions of the Faculty WM, as amended on 13 November 2014

Please note: Fulfilment of the formal admission requirements is not a sufficient criterion for acceptance as a doctoral candidate at the Faculty WM. Before submitting the application (doctoral application), the applicant must obtain the agreement of a professor of the faculty to supervise the dissertation.

The doctoral application must be submitted electronically via the TU Ilmenau campus portal.

Enrolment as a doctoral student is the personal decision of the candidate and only has an influence on the membership status within TU Ilmenau and the resulting authorisations.

However, the implementation of the doctoral procedure, which is the responsibility of the faculty, is not affected by enrolment as a doctoral student.

The application for enrolment must be submitted electronically via the TU Ilmenau campus portal.
