Information session on our new double degree program

We would like to invite you to an information session on our new double degree program which we offer in collaboration with the Université de Lorraine (UdL) in Nancy, France, which is one of the top French universities.
[Translate to English:]

The session will take place on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 3 p.m. in the lecture hall LdV Hs. 1.

For the first time, TU Ilmenau will offer the opportunity to obtain an international English-language double Master's degree with the University de Lorraine in Nancy, France. This creates a unique AI (artificial intelligence) engineering program with domain knowledge in communications and signal processing. Both universities have collaborated in pioneering research on tensor-based signal processing for many years. These techniques extend matrix-based algorithms to more than two dimensions to deal more efficiently with multi-dimensional data.

This double degree option increases the attractiveness of the international Master’s program “Communications and Signal Processing (CSP)” (https://www.tu-ilmenau.de/mscsp) for Bachelor graduates from TU Ilmenau who desire a career in international companies or in research. International students are given the unique opportunity to gain the best possible qualifications for the European academic and industrial job market. The selected students will become members of the  prestigious Franco-German University (FGU, https://www.dfh-ufa.org/en/) and gain a unique inter-cultural competence as well as additional networking opportunities.

We are glad to welcome the Program Officer from the UdL, Dr. Sebastian Miron. He will give you some insight on studying at the UdL and additional program specific information.

You will also get information regarding funding opportunities, application deadlines for grants, and other organizational issues. The selected students thus receive a mobility grant from the Franco-German University for their stay abroad. It is also possible to receive an Erasmus+ scholarship and/or BAföG abroad at the same time.

Some key facts on the double degree program:

  • All lectures will be offered in English.
  • Unique AI (artificial intelligence) engineering program with domain knowledge in communications and signal processing.
  • Elite study program. World-wide leading research and study program in the field of Tensor-based signal processing.
  • Achieve two Master degrees in a four semester program.

            M. Sc. in Communications and Signal Processing & Master Ingénierie des Systèmes Complexes

  •  German and French language courses are offered for non-native speakers.
  •  Financial support for the stay abroad is granted (DFH* Mobilitätsbeihilfe) and/or Erasmus+
