The labs in the "User-centered analysis of multimedia data" Group enable user studies to be carried out in various real-life usage situations. With the help of interviews, focus groups or usability tests, the needs of users can be determined and the user-friendliness of interactive systems can be optimized.

MIKA Lab

  • Realistic test environment of an autonomous shuttle bus as an alternative for cost-intensive field studies
  • Simulation of passenger information and passenger services in the field of autonomous driving to optimize them
  • Targeted recording of interactions thanks to integrated technology
  • Flexibly adaptable setup that can also be used to simulate other means of transport (public bus, train compartment)

Use Lab

  • Enables user studies to be conducted with the help of interviews, focus groups or usability tests in various real-life situations
  • Determining the needs of users and thus optimizing the user-friendliness of interactive systems
  • Interactions of test subjects can be observed through semi-transparent mirrors, PTZ cameras and microphones capture the desired test details.

The usability laboratories are located in the Kirchhoff Building, rooms K 3006 and K 3008/3009.
