Project Description

The aim of this project is to prove the feasibility of a modularly combinable and adaptable exoskeleton for the arm (from the support of the fingers to the abutment on the trunk: "Upper Body") to compensate for the physical strain of users, especially in industry and trade. The exoskeleton should independently determine functional parameters and adapt them to the working environment. In the LEVIAKTOR project applied for, the basis for scalable and thus bio- and environmentally compatible orthoses based on electrically driven actuators is to be created. A special feature is the consideration of the functioning of the neuromuscular coupling and its integration into the control concepts of the exoskeleton. In the project, mechatronic components that can be easily combined and integrated will be created, which will enable the economically feasible construction of so-called exoskeletons even by non-scientists. These orthoses serve both the "enhancement" of productivity and prevention.
