The main research areas of our group include Functional micro/nanostructuring, Electrocatalysis, Energy storage (Batteries and supercapacitors), Surface Plasmonics, and Simulations & Modeling.

Combining material optimization and micro-/nanostructures design to develop high-performance and safe electrochemical energy storage (metal-ion batteries, metal-air batteries, aqueous zinc-ion batteries, and supercapacitors) and energy conversion (photoelectrochemical water splitting and photocatalysis) devices; tuning plasmonic surface behavior such as surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) with controlled surface nanopatterns for optoelectronic devices and sensors; and understanding of the underlying physics governing material function by combining theoretical and computational efforts.
