Dr. Sumith Reddy Anugu

I joined the MDS group in July 2025. Prior to this, I was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of CMOR, Rice University from 2022-2025 and in the Department of Mathematics, IIT Bombay from 2021-2022. I obtained my PhD in 2021 from ICTS-TIFR Bengaluru under the mentorship of Prof. Amit Apte  where I worked in the field of stochastic filtering theory as a part of my doctoral research. In addition to this, I obtained my M.Sc in Physics (from ICTS-TIFR Bengaluru) and B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering (from IIT Bombay). 

Currently, my research interests lie in the areas of stochastic control, filtering theory.  
As a member of the MDS group, I intend to work on the particle filters (and their performance) and reinforcement learning.
