Overview

Why?


Medical and technical diagnostic devices produce growing amounts of data. The combination and joint evaluation of data from different measurement methods (multimodal data) offers additional information for the early detection of various diseases.

With the growing amount of data, the uncertainty in decision processes increases. If these uncertainties are not considered sufficiently, the results of the data analysis can be distorted. This can possibly lead to diagnostic errors.

Development of novel analysis methods for multimodal data.
Consideration and minimization of occurring uncertainties.
Demonstration of the effectivity of the newly developed methods in medical and technical applications.
Protection of vision for a self-determined life by more reliable multimodal diagnostics of ocular diseases.
