Annual Conference of the Media Economics Section of the German Society for Journalism and Communication Studies

Group of Media and Communication Management participated in the annual conference of the specialist group media economics of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Publizistik und Kommunikationswissenschaft (DGPuK) with the topic "Internet Intermediaries and Virtual Platforms Viewed from a Media Economic Perspective".

From 30 September to 02 October 2021 the annual conference of the specialist group media economics of the DGPuK took place in Hamburg. For the Media and Communication Management group, Prof. Dr. Andreas Will, Jonas Weber and Miriam Bernhard participated in the digital conference.

Miriam Bernhard (co-authors: Prof. Dr. Britta Gossel and Prof. Dr. Andreas Will) presented their findings on "Influence of Technology Orientation on Organizational Learning in Media Organizations".

Jonas Weber (co-authors: Jun.-Prof. Dr. Christopher Buschow and Prof. Dr. Andreas Will) gave a presentation on "Netflix and Spotify as a blueprint? A comparison of subscription-based journalism platforms with Spotify and Netflix." In addition, Jonas Weber was awarded the Young Scientist Award of the DGPuK Media Economics Section on 01 October 2021. 

In addition to the Media and Communication Management group, the Economic Theory group of TU Ilmenau also discussed and presented other papers at the conference.
