The AWO Counseling Center Lore-Agnes Haus in Essen serves as a contact point for all matters related to sexuality, family planning, pregnancy, and abortion. Named after the activist, Social Democrat, and AWO co-founder Lore Agnes (1876–1953), the Lore-Agnes Haus has existed for over 40 years.
The Media Psychology and Media Design Group at TU Ilmenau has been collaborating with AWO for several years, for example as part of the research project PASeBi (Pornography in Everyday Life and in Sexuality Education for Adolescents). At the expert conference “Sexuality Education Today – Diversity, Challenges, and Opportunities” in November 2025 at the Lore-Agnes Haus, Prof. Dr. Nicola Döring will give a presentation on the relevance of sexual media content for adolescents.
