Research Group Media Psychology publishes in IJERPH

Results from the CO-HUMANICS project

The CO-HUMANICS project aims to improve the social integration of older adults with the help of innovative communication technologies from the fields of augmented reality and social robotics. The Media Psychology and Media Design Group at the TU Ilmenau is responsible for the evaluation and particularly for the empirical research of the attitudes, requirements and behaviors of older adults.

Can communication technologies reduce loneliness and social isolation in older people? What answers to this question can be found in the state of research during the last 50 years? This has now been compiled in a comprehensive "Review of Reviews" as part of the CO-HUMANICS project and published in IJERPH (International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health) with a current impact factor of 4.614. The state of research to date still shows considerable gaps, but certainly points to positive potentials of the use of communication technologies for the social integration of older people.
