Social closeness through robots and avatars for an ageing society

Research Group Media Psychology presents at the Science Forum of TU Ilmenau

The Science Forum is organised by the Presidential Board of TU Ilmenau with the aim of an inter-faculty exchange on current research results. On Wednesday, 28 June 2023 at 5 p.m., Prof. Nicola Döring from the Media Psychology and Media Design Group will give a lecture titled "Social closeness through robots and avatars? Techno-psychological research for an ageing society".
The lecture will present studies from the work package Evaluation of the CO-HUMANICS (Co-presence of Humans and Interactive Companions for Seniors) project. In line with the human-centred approach of CO-HUMANICS, the talk will focus, among other things, on how people over the age of 60 are involved in the project and what their requirements are for augmented reality systems and social robots designed to improve their social inclusion.
