MURL: Mindful Universities Research Lab

 

Project aim

The Mindful Universities Research Lab (MURL) was formed from the supraregional cooperation platform Mindful Universities, which has been exploring research opportunities and acquiring third-party funding (e.g. via health insurance companies, foundations, DFG, BMBF), discussing the scientific background of mindfulness at universities and conducting pilot studies since February 2020. The head of the Research Lab is Prof. Dr. Veronika Engert (Friedrich Schiller University Jena).

Sub-project at TU Ilmenau

The Media Psychology and Media Design Group contributes to the MURL with its social science research expertise. Prof. Döring also contributes her experience with mindfulness exercises in university teaching. She has completed the MBET (Mindfulness Based Employee Training) and MBTT (Mindfulness-Based Teacher Training) courses as part of the Thuringian Mindful Universities model as well as the five advanced modules of the Mindful University Teachers certificate training and was certified as a Mindful University Teacher in 2020.
