PASeBi:Pornografie im Alltag und in der Sexuellen Bildung von Jugendlichen [Pornography in everyday life and in the sexual education of adolescents]
Four research questions are to be answered within the framework of the communication and sexual science research project:
RQ1: To what extent do young people come into contact with pornography in their everyday lives, both unintentionally and intentionally?
RQ2: What attitudes do young people have towards pornography?
RQ3: What ideas of sexuality do adolescents have that may be related to pornography role models?
RQ4: What requirements do young people have for addressing pornography in the context of sexual education?
Young people aged 14 and over will be surveyed. Prerequisites for participation in the survey are a) the informed written consent of the parents and b) the informed written consent of the adolescents. The data collection is strictly anonymous and serves purely scientific purposes.
A positive votum of the ethics committee of the TU Ilmenau has been obtained.
The adolescents anonymously fill out a standardised research questionnaire.
The research questionnaire was developed based on the previous literature and validated by experts in the field of sexual education.
Students from the age of 14 in the 8th and 9th grade are surveyed within the framework of regular sexual education projects at schools in North Rhine-Westphalia. These sexual education projects are carried out by sexual education specialists from the AWO counselling centres in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) and from the YouthWork project in NRW.
The PASeBi study is intended to contribute to closing research gaps on how young people deal with online pornography.
The results of the PASeBi study should contribute to addressing the topic of online pornography in sexual education projects at schools in a more target group-oriented way and to counteracting the negative consequences of pornography.
