The research interest of our group lies in the transfer of biological information processing and information storage into electronic systems. To this end, neurobiological mechanisms of information acquisition, processing and storage are reconstructed in such a way that they can be emulated with micro- and nanoelectronic systems. This essentially involves the development of new (memristive) materials and devices, the development of systems tailored to the specific needs of these devices, and bio-inspired models that enable the technical replication of biological systems. In addition, our department has many years of experience in the development and fabrication of micro-electromechanicalsystems (MEMS), novel semiconductor devices and circuits.
