Academic Preparation Course (APC) - Media Technology

The following Frequently Ask Questions should help you get started with the Media Technology APC course. Please, have a close look at all the questions before approaching us via email. In addition to this page and the email contact points, we offer an introduction event for all Media Technology APC students on Wednesday, April 21st, from 9:30 - 11:00. The meeting will be virtual and held via WebEx. Please, see our Moodle course ( https://moodle2.tu-ilmenau.de/course/view.php?id=3411 ) for further details.
As a next step, you need to enroll at the TU Ilmenau. To do so, please contact the APC office (apc@tu-ilmenau.de).
After you have completed the enrollment process, you will receive a TU-Ilmenau email address. Please use this email address to register yourself at the university's online learning platform Moodle (moodle2.tu-ilmenau.de) and login to the platform with your account at least once.
In addition, the APC office will notify us and forward your contact information. We will then add you to our APC Moodle course.
All course material is available in the university's online learning platform Moodle (moodle2.tu-ilmenau.de). To access the Moodle platform, please register yourself using your TU-Ilmenau email address and login to the platform at least once. Links to all APC courses are available at https://moodle2.tu-ilmenau.de/course/view.php?id=3411 .
Access to the APC Moodle course is restricted to students in the Media Technology APC program. Therefore, we manually add all participants after we received the confirmation from the APC office.
Please make sure that you registered yourself at the Moodle platform ( https://moodle2.tu-ilmenau.de/ ) with your TU-Ilmenau email address and logged into the system at least once after you have completed your enrollment. Otherwise, we cannot add you to the course.
You have to be in Ilmenau to complete the Media Technology APC program. However, you can start all courses remotely, even from abroad. All materials will be shared online in our Moodle system, the lectures and consultations will be held via our conferencing system WebEx. Still, you have to be physically present in Ilmenau during the examination period (http://asc.mobi/desktop/pdf/eng-semestereckpunkte-sommer-2021.pdf).
Even if you can start the courses without being in Ilmenau, you must be enrolled at the TU Ilmenau to participate.

Scientific Working
The goal of the Scientific Working is to learn best practices for scientific writing and scientific presentations. Further, the course will provide insights into the services of the local university library.
Scientific Working is an online course and takes place Tuesdays from 13:30 to 15:00. The course starts on April 27th and the latest possible date to join the course is May 3rd, 2021.

Raspberry Pi Project
The goal of the Raspberry Pi Project is to learn how to plan, organize, and solve tasks in a small project group. Students solve predefined tasks that combine mechanics, electrical engineering, computer science, and media technology using a Raspberry Pi. There will be tutorials on GIT, Python, and Linux, to support the course participants and additional regular consultations.
The Raspberry Pi Project is an online course and takes place Tuesdays from 15:30 to 17:00. The course starts on April 27th and the latest possible date to join the course is May 3rd, 2021.
