Information management for public mobility services (IFÖM)

Public transport is an essential building block for achieving important climate targets. The lectures deal comprehensively with fundamental topics in public transport: IT system landscape of a transport company, legal framework and financing, infrastructure and train safety, service planning and scheduling, operations, traffic and incident management, passenger information needs and sales.

The course takes place in presence in cooperation with German companies and institutions in the sector and is supplemented by online content. Further details and teaching materials are available on theIFÖM website and in the Moodle course.

Enrollment in the Moodle course is mandatory for all participating students.

User-Centric Engineering 2

The target group of the course are Master's students of Media Technology and Computer Science, as well as Master's students of Media Economics.

Research Seminar

This course has two main foci: design and evaluation of virtual and augmented reality systems and video quality evaluation. The students can choose a focus area and work on a related project.

After attending the lectures during the research seminar, students are able to understand concepts related to experimental design and research practices related to technology evaluation and human behavior.

Raspberry Pi Project

The goal of the Raspberry Pi Project is to learn how to plan, organize, and solve tasks in a small project group. Students solve predefined tasks that combine mechanics, electrical engineering, computer science, and media technology using a Raspberry Pi. There will be tutorials on GIT, Python, and Linux, to support the course participants and additional regular consultations.

Scientific Working

The goal of the Scientific Working is to learn best practices for scientific writing and scientific presentations. Further, the course provides insights into the services of the local university library.
