Diversity network at Thuringian universities

The Network for Diversity at Thuringian Universities is a joint institution of the ten Thuringian universities that was founded in 2019. The legal basis is Section 7 (5) of the Thuringian Higher Education Act: "The universities work together in the area of diversity across all locations in a joint institution that they equip appropriately."

Members of the network are the Diversity Officers, Diversity Officers and other diversity stakeholders at Thuringian universities. The network has been coordinated and advised by the office since February 2021.

Diversity network at universities

A nationwide collegial network of employees who are entrusted with the implementation of diversity and anti-discrimination tasks at German universities on an operational and strategic level across all dimensions (horizontal approach).

The tasks relate to interlocking social categories and their connection with inequality relations (intersectional approach).
