The Equal Opportunities Officer is the contact person for all employees and students of the TU Ilmenau for questions and advice on the subject of equality. She is committed to equal cooperation between women and men at the university. With its work, it supports the university management in the realisation of the legally anchored equal opportunities of the sexes and works towards the elimination of existing disadvantages. Together with the Equal Opportunities Council, support measures and campaigns are implemented.
The Equal Opportunities Council is an elected representative body and supports the University's Equal Opportunities Officer in the performance of her duties. With its promotional measures, the Equal Opportunities Council specifically supports women and creates visibility for relevant topics of equal opportunities work with various campaigns.
The term of office of the elected members of the Gender Equality Council is three years. The Equal Opportunities Council consists of 13 members from the faculties, the service and administration departments and the student body. The central Equal Opportunities Officer is the chairperson of the committee.
