General information

Education is one of the highest goods of our society. Among the approximately 5,000 students at TU Ilmenau are many talented individuals who will ensure the future viability of the region as well as beyond the borders of Thuringia. To ensure that financial bottlenecks do not become stumbling blocks, it is important to constantly support these talented and committed individuals. This is also the opinion of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, which is why it introduced the Deutschlandstipendium at the beginning of 2011.

Under this programme, private individuals and institutions who recognise the value and benefit to society of the students to be supported donate to their education. The Deutschlandstipendium grants students a monthly grant of 300 euros, independent of their income, for a minimum of one year and a maximum of the duration of their standard period of study. Thus, scholarship holders receive a financial allowance of 3,600 euros per year, which allows them to successfully concentrate on their studies at the TU Ilmenau.
