According to its self-description, the Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons (www.bzkj.de) is committed to intelligent opportunity and risk management related to media. This is to ensure the realisation of children's and adolescents’ rights to protection, empowerment and participation in the digitalised society. For this purpose, it organizes, among other things, the format "Future Workshop", which brings together experts from research and media practice. The Future Workshop on 3 March 2023 will discuss "Sexual Violence and Harassment in the Digital Space". Prof. Dr. Nicola Döring from the Media Psychology and Media Design Group at TU Ilmenau will contribute to the event with an introductory lecture on various forms of online sexual violence and harassment and how they affect children and adolescents.
