VEDIAS-VR

Within the framework of the VEDIAS-VR project, Ilmenau University of Technology is supplementing its range of courses with three internationally oriented master's degree programmes that can be studied online. All three courses have been internationally successful for years as face-to-face formats.

Our group is responsible in particular for the conception and development of a multilingual, open source-based collaboration platform (learning/teaching/examination/study organisation, social VR application) that spans all disciplines and universities.

The VR application will be used, among other things, as a virtual meeting and experience space for the digital development of support services for students. The social VR application will integrate four areas: virtual experimental lecture hall, virtual seminar room, virtual project/lab room (as a substitute for access to complex lab facilities that previously required face-to-face study), and the virtual campus lobby for informal encounters as part of the "digital campus family" or at introductory "meet and greet" events.
