Excursion to Saveway GmbH & Co KG

On 25 May 2023, we as the EI Student Council visited Saveway GmbH & Co KG in Langewiesen together with interested students from various fields of study.

The company, founded in 1992 on the basis of a dissertation at the Technische Universität Ilmenau, develops and sells measurement technology for melting, holding and treatment plants. The safety technology developed by Dr. Manfred Hopf as part of his doctorate helps to improve the safety of employees in melting plants. Based on electrical engineering principles such as Ohm's law, Dr. Hopf explained to us how his safety technology works, the development of which can be summed up in the phrase "From Ohm's law to high-tech product". After the introduction and company presentation, Steven Reumschüssel, deputy technical managing director, explained the product range of Saveway GmbH & Co KG in detail. In doing so, he answered the students' numerous questions in a very descriptive manner. The company develops and manufactures the majority of its components itself at its site in Langewiesen and ships the finished products from there all over the world. All theory is gray, so after the theoretical introduction we set off on a tour of the company's production facilities. This conclusion showed us once again how a good idea, technical understanding and a lot of hard work can result in a product that today protects numerous human lives.

Saveway GmbH & Co KG is always looking for new employees. Current job offers and further information can be found at https://www.saveway-germany.de/.
