On April 25, 2026, we were delighted to welcome many prospective students and give them insights into our teaching and research environment. In addition to fundamental subjects such as engineering mechanics, gear technology, and machine dynamics, we presented innovative developments – including grippers for sensitive components, massage actuators, vibration measurement, and compliant mechanisms with zero stiffness.

Team

Our scientific team is led by Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Lena Zentner. We research and teach in the field of mechanics of compliant and rigid bodies. Our teaching and research focus is on the synthesis, investigation and optimization of technical systems. These find wide application in mechanical engineering, especially in metrology, medical technology, handling systems and robotics.

Our main research areas are:

  • systems based on functional materials

We develop our systems using careful analytical and computer-aided methods, for which we have a particularly high level of competence. The focus of our investigations is on interdisciplinary research topics, currently in the fields of precision engineering, robotics, productive teaming and medical engineering.
