High performance at the interfaces between the fields of knowledge requires highly complex technology and equipment at the highest international level. With over 1,800 m² of laboratory space and 1,200 m² of clean rooms, the Centre of Micro- and Nanotechnologies (ZMN) now has two high-tech buildings; the Feynman and Meitner Building.

For the processing of scientific topics in the three major research areas of the Institute of Micro- and Nanotechnologies - Micro-Nano-Integration, Materials for Micro- and Nanotechnologies and 3D-Biosystems - the ZMN has several process lines with extensive technical equipment. High-performance analysis down to the atomic scale rounds off the scientific equipment.
