Research and Analysis Services
In the department of Research and Analysis, experienced patent engineers search information for you in databases of various patent offices and hosts. Searches can be carried out on scientific and technical matters, patents, standards, business information, funding projects, congresses, scientific institutions, as well as on legal matters.
Patent statistics and patent analysis represent a special section of the department. Based on subject area searches, competitors can be identified, market and company analyses can be carried out, the development of selected subject areas can be presented and thus comprehensive trend analyses can be offered.
Patent Management Thuringian Universities
Patent exploitation agency for Thuringian universities and scientific institutions
Since 2002, the protection and marketing of knowledge generated in universities has been a statutory task of the universities. The aim is to bring the results of academic research into industrial application more quickly and in a more targeted manner. The Patent Utilization Agency supports - as the coordinating institution - the partners of the Thuringian Utilization Association (TVV) in fulfilling this task and thus builds the bridge between science and industry.
For industry, the PTH provides unique access to Thuringia's largest technology pool, especially from Thuringian science.
PATONAKADEMIE
For more than 20 years PATON has been organizing advanced training courses in the field of technical and patent information for students and employees of the TU Ilmenau and for employees of other institutions and industry. According to our possibilities and the wishes and requirements of our customers, we have constantly expanded our offer in the direction of intellectual property and IP management.
For this purpose, we offer seminar modules which can be attended according to previous knowledge and interest. The current seminar offers are published every six months.
Those who wish to train as a patent searcher or patent engineer/patent manager can attend a PATON training programme Patent Searcher or Patent Engineer/Patent Manager.
Public Reading Room
Public Reading Room - established in the 1950s - enables searches in patent, design and trademark databases as well as business information. The full texts of identified intellectual property rights can be printed or made available electronically on request.
Users can be assisted in their searches by PATON staff, take advantage of expert advice by Thuringian patent attorneys and submit application documents for industrial property rights.
Patent Information Technologies
The department of Patent Information Technologies is responsible for all matters relating to software and hardware, including:
maintains the in-house network and the comprehensive patent full text system PATONline,
maintains PATON's Internet web presence,
