Data visualization tools are used for the analysis of power electronic systems. The open-source software LabAnalyser is currently used for this purpose and a plugin has been developed. In order to expand its capabilities, we are looking for students who would like to contribute to the development of new functions, such as a header file parser. By participating in this project, participants will deepen their understanding of the C++ programming language and power electronic systems.
To develop a C-style header file parser class, based on an open source project, capable of recursively extracting variable names and types and storing data in a container that can be used by the LabAnalyser application.
The design of converter controls usually aims to achieve stable and sufficiently fast and robust systems. However, a three-phase system that is stable for a certain assumed grid scenario (e.g. a converter system at an ideal grid voltage with an RL grid impedance) can become unstable under changed grid conditions (changed number of converters, grid structure, impedance and/or operating points) can become unstable. However, if all converters are designed in such a way that they satisfy the concept of passivity, the interconnection of these passive systems is always passive and therefore stable. Conventional power converters on the AC grid, however, do not satisfy the concept of passivity.
As these are preliminary investigations, this work is particularly suitable as a research project, project/research seminar, specialized seminar, etc.
Knowledge of control, especially of three-phase systems and a suitable simulation tool (e.g. Matlab/Simulink), is useful.
