The VDE University Group Ilmenau

We are the VDE University Group Ilmenau, an association of volunteer students from the fields of electrical engineering, medical technology, computer science and others. With the support of the VDE, we organize specialist events such as lectures, workshops and meetups, as well as excursions to trade fairs and companies. In addition, our lecture series "Current Challenges in Electrical Power Engineering" takes place every semester. In addition to our regional program, we work together with the other 60 VDE university groups throughout Germany and regularly plan joint events and projects.

Organizing these diverse events allows us to gain a lot of experience and make new contacts. As a university group, we also go to conferences together, plan internal excursions and events - so that there is no shortage of fun. With a membership, you will receive help with your studies from students for students, specialist background information from research and development, contacts for intensive career preparation and exclusive discounts, e.g. on excursions.

If we have aroused your interest and you are interested in our work, you can get to know us in a relaxed environment at one of our regulars' tables or you can come to one of our meetings and get a direct insight into our work. You can find more information on the dates in the "Contacts" section.

VDE

The VDE (Verband der Elektrotechnik Elektronik und Informationstechnik e.V.), one of the largest technology organizations in Europe, has stood for innovation and technological progress for more than 125 years. The VDE is the only organization in the world to unite science, standardization, testing, certification and application consulting under one roof. For 100 years, the VDE mark has been synonymous with the highest safety standards and consumer protection. 2,000 employees at over 60 locations worldwide, more than 100,000 volunteer experts and around 1,500 companies are shaping a future worth living in the VDE network. The basis for this is formed by numerous VDE university groups at almost all university locations in Germany.

The VDE District Association Thuringia e.V.

In numerous VDE districts, VDE university groups offer regional platforms for orientation and the exchange of experiences for students. Across Germany, VDE young members are united in 29 VDE district associations and almost 60 regional university groups to form VDE Young Net, the VDE network for young members.
