Usually our holdings are consulted in person in the archive's reading area. As the number of workstations is limited, we recommend that you make an appointment with us in good time.
You are welcome to fill out the application form in advance and send it scanned to the archive by e-mail or post. By submitting the application, you agree to the terms of use formulated in the Archive Regulations and the Usage Regulations. Please combine the application with an enquiry in order to give us the opportunity to prepare for your visit precisely. Questions about our holdings and finding aids can also be addressed to us without submitting an application.
Please notice that certain archival records may only be usable to a limited extent or not yet. We will be happy to advise you on this in advance or in a conversation on site.
The use of the Ilmenau University Archives is basically free of charge.
The University Archives is located in the building of the University Library, room 3060.

We recommend parking at the public car park Am Helmholtzring.
The busstop Campuscenter of the bus line C is located directly opposite the library building.
