Mr. Dehghani’s research area is centred around Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). ITS combines high technology and improvements in information systems, communications, sensors, computation, and artificial intelligence with the conventional world of transportation infrastructure. The primary goal is to enhance safety and efficiency, and reduce the environmental impacts of transportation systems. This area represents a unique fusion of technology and mobility, where we delve into the Vehicle to Everything (V2X) Communications enabling seamless interactions between vehicles and everything in their environment, including other vehicles, infrastructure, and pedestrians.
Our studies also emphasize Automated Driving Systems (ADS). In this area, we investigate the algorithms and integration of benefits of both vehicle connectivity and automation to enable vehicles to navigate and make decisions without or with only few human interventions.
A fundamental aspect of our research involves the application of Artificial Intelligence(AI) in ITS. By utilizing advanced AI algorithms, our goal is to boost the capabilities of vehicles and infrastructures, thereby improving their decision-making processes and enabling more intelligent transportation systems.
Therefore, our primary research domains within Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) include, but are not limited to:
Vehicle to Everything (V2X) Communications
- The Fifth-Generation New Radio Vehicle-to-Everything (5G NR V2X) Communication Technology
- Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC)
Automated Driving Systems (ADS)
- End-to-End Driving
- Modular Systems (Communication, Planning and Decision-Making Modules)
Application of Artificial Intelligence Methods
- Machine Learning
- Reinforcement Learning
- Deep Learning and Neural Networks
