Mobility stations of the future

Mobility is a basic need of society. Future forms of mobility are facing a fundamental change that will affect public transport in particular. Against this background, the AG 1 Verkehrsinfrastruktur und Mobilität im Kontext räumlicher Entwicklung of the Thuringian Mobility Network carried out a pilot project on the topic of mobility stations, in which three Thuringian universities participated. The aim of the mobility stations is to support the efficient combination of the most sustainable means of transport possible for all people.

In cooperation between the Thüringer Innovationszentrum Mobilität and the User-centric Analysis of Multimedia Data Group, two semester-long projects were dedicated to the research question of how mobility stations of the future can be developed to be as user-friendly as possible. Taking the perspective of travelers into account at an early stage not only increases the acceptance and usability of the developed solutions, but also increases the efficiency of the development processes.

The student projects focused on the following topics

Through the Thüringer Mobilitätsnetzwerk, the results of the students' work are directly incorporated into the further development of mobility in Thuringia.
