The digital student Pausen Express has already been available for several semesters. Now we - the University Sports Center and Student Health Management - are working on an analog version of this offer for the summer semester 2025.
A brief introduction to the digital break express:
Digital Student PausenExpress
The digital Pausenexpress offers short, activating exercise units created by and with students. The aim is to provide a mental break and physical activation for students and teaching staff. These short breaks promote blood circulation, relax muscles that are tense due to incorrect strain and reduce inner restlessness and tiredness. At the same time, the participants' ability to concentrate and perform is increased - a valuable tool for promoting energy and focus in courses.
Analog Student Pausen Express (planned from summer semester)
From the summer semester, we are planning to expand the digital offering with an analog break for classes. These breaks will build on the digital format and be organized by students for students. Similar initiatives are already running at renowned universities such as the FU Berlin, the University of Giessen and the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences. The aim is to sensitize students and lecturers to the importance of movement in everyday working and learning life and to motivate them to integrate short breaks into courses.
Why a moving break in courses offers great potential
With this initiative, we want to make teaching healthier and more lively. The short movement units not only help to promote health, but also create a relaxed learning atmosphere and increase student concentration - a clear benefit for everyone involved.
The lecturers decide individually at which points during the course a movement break can be integrated. An exercise instructor will come to your course at the same time each week to lead the active break. These breaks only last around 5-7 minutes, can be carried out in any room and do not require any prior knowledge on the part of the participants. The size of your event also has no influence on the implementation.
