Planar integrated free-space optical fluorescence detector for micro fluidic applications. - In: DGaO-Proceedings, ISSN 1614-8436, Bd. 110.2009, C25, insges. 2 S.

Based on the planar integrated free space optical systems approach the design and manufacturing results of a fluorescence detector are presented. The system is fabricated by micro milling on a KUGLER microgantry® 5x milling machine. The fluorescence detector is designed for the integration into the segmented flow environment for pH-sensing in fluid segments.

We present the results of our research in digital in-line holography and discuss some challenges of the numerical reconstruction. We address the theoretical basics and describe an innovative reconstruction algorithm. Finally, we present some ideas for improving the reconstruction quality and propose a method for the estimation of global particle distribution.

The system integration of optical tweezer setups introduces restrictions in terms of laser power and available space or demands extended working distances and trapping under special conditions. We present a simulation tool and design considerations for integrated optical micromanipulation.

In the manufacturing process of aspheric glass lenses, the polishing step plays a key role with respect to the final quality of the lens as well as to the manufacturing costs. Due to the changing radius of curvature sub aperture tools are used for polishing aspherical lens elements. Even with small tools the changing radius has a significant influence to the wear function [1] [2]. This paper describes a method to calculate the removal based only on the surface shape and the material parameters of the tool. The described method can be used for any kind of surface, e.g. for freeform shapes.
