Teaching model driven architecture approach with the Sirius project. - In: European Conference on Software Engineering Education, ISBN 978-3-8440-4515-4, (2016), S. 143-156

The OMG's Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) approach was published more than 10 years ago. There were many attempts to use this approach using di erent tools, which nevertheless has not lead to the widespread use of the MDA. The authors believe that among the reasons for this is the lack of an integrated tool chain that fully supports this approach, the high amount of specialized knowledge about speci cations, as well as the lack of educational support for practitioners. However, the development of so-called meta tools has progressed considerably since the proposal of MDA, allowing to reduce the development e ort signi cantly. It also allows to teach the MDAapproach and necessary speci cations using an available tool chain with the Eclipse Sirius project. This paper presents an experience report teaching the MDA approach to computer science students. The structure of the newly implemented course, the used tool chain and the students performances as well as the results of the rst course evaluation are presented.

Design of digital controllers for electromagnetic force compensated balances focused on the disturbance transfer function. - In: Measurement accuracy and the impact on society, (2016), insges. 10 S.

The main objective of the paper is to propose a new possible design process for controllers in electromagnetic force compensated balances (EMFC). Controllers used in EMFC balances demand a high precision of the measured and generated electrical quantities. Regarding to the achievable uncertainty in static measurements, EMFC balances are state of the art, but in future applications the importance of dynamic applications will probably increase. Therefore the controlled system should possess a high measurement bandwidth to reduce the measurement time in dynamic applications. A design process will be presented, which is strongly focused on the disturbance transfer function of the control loop. Based on the consideration of these additional system characteristics in the controller design process, the measurement time of the balance is reduced significantly compared to conventional PID controllers.
