This page gives you an overview of finished projects and past activities in the AVT group.

The projects are sorted backwards by completion date.

DFG project AUDICTIVE QoEVAVE

The project is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) as part of the DFG Priority Program Auditory Cognition in Interactive Virtual Environments (AUDICTIVE).

Project duration: Jan. 2021 - Dec. 2023

Interactive virtual environments (IVEs) aim to replace real-world sensory input with corresponding streams of artificial stimulation. If successful, such a replacement will make the technology transparent and allow the user to interact naturally in a virtual world. IVEs bring new challenges to quality evaluation and render current evaluation approaches in the audio and video communities partially inapplicable. The QoEVAVE project aims at finding and closing the gaps in current quality evaluation methodologies for audio and video, and examines the feasibility of inferring quality from human behavior in an IVE.

DFG large-scale device ILMETA

The project was funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG)

Project duration: 2020 - 2023

The proposed large-scale device is a system for the production and analysis of high-quality media content, which represents the essential measurement signal for algorithms and systems for processing, encoding, transmission and playback of media signals. The audiovisual (A/V) measurement signals are enriched with metadata at every point in the end-to-end chain and as part of measurements or user tests.

Project MSensNet

The project was funded by the Zentralen Innovationsprogramm Mittelstand (ZIM).

Project duration: June 2018 - May 2020

With previously used methods for noise measurement, no reliable correlation of the measured noise level to the source to be identified is established. As part of the MSensNet project, methods and technologies for noise immission measurement in outdoor areas were developed with the measurement and studio microphone manufacturer Microtech Gefell.
