Olympic Training Center for Physics

Students conduct experiments in the introductory physics lab

There are many ways for students to get a taste of our physics lab course:

  • as part of an individually arranged (industrial) internship
  • together with their class or course during a project day
  • or during an entire project week.

We recommend a visit starting in 9th grade. The topics and experiments are selected based on the students’ prior knowledge and interests. If you’re interested, please contact us, and we’ll work out the organizational details together.

Physics Summer

A project week for high school students

The Ilmenau Physics Summer Program aims to highlight the importance of physics in modern life and thereby spark students’ interest in studying physics, particularly at the Technical University of Ilmenau. To this end, the Institute of Physics at the Technical University of Ilmenau offers a one-week summer program in which the scientific aspects of an overarching theme are introduced through lectures, explored in greater depth through lab sessions, and developed by groups of students in guided seminars. The program is rounded out by evening social events.
