March 8 is International Women's Day. To mark the occasion, the World Health Organization is calling on member states and other stakeholders to invest more in women's health. Inequalities still exist, for example, in the research and treatment of diseases specific to women, in access to healthcare and in the recognition of women's contribution to health-related professions.
Investing in women's health and health-related research is important not only for the well-being of women, but for society as a whole. This not only promotes gender equality, but also unleashes the full potential of half the world's population, leading to a more resilient and equitable society for all.
