Pauline Gidget Estella Forscherin im DECIPHER-Projekt, einem von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) finanzierten vergleichenden Projekt, das die COVID-19-bezogene Krisenkommunikation in Europa und den USA untersucht.
Pauline unterrichtete in Deutschland, der Türkei und auf den Philippinen in den Bereichen Evaluierung von Journalismusausbildung und Kommunikationsforschung. Sie war auch als Beraterin für die Forschung in internationalen Organisationen wie dem European Journalism Centre und dem Asia Pacific Research Network tätig. Sie war eine der Hauptverantwortlichen für ein von der Sumitomo Foundation finanziertes vergleichendes Vier-Länder-Projekt zur Journalistenausbildung in Asien.
Pauline war Beraterin für Journalismus-Lehrpläne im philippinischen Bildungsministerium sowie Beraterin für Kommunikation am Arbeitsplatz für Regierungsbehörden und einige Privatunternehmen auf den Philippinen. Ihre Forschungsinteressen liegen in den Bereichen Journalistenausbildung, Studien zum Globalen Süden, digitale Falsch- und Desinformation sowie Krisenkommunikation.
