Dr. Mira Rochyadi-Reetz wins third place at the 4th Science Slam at TU Ilmenau

Our colleague Dr. Mira Rochyadi-Reetz won third place at the 4th science slam night on 12 April 2025, which was organized by the BC Café and the TU Ilmenau Library.

This event challenges researchers to present their scientific work in an understandable and engaging format for a general audience. Dr. Rochyadi-Reetz gave a presentation based on her research on the media representation of renewable energy in 11 countries. In her science slam, she combined empirical findings on how the German media portrays renewable energy in comparison to other countries with a humorous personal narrative about the German language and political conditions. With her humorous perspective as an Indonesian living in Germany, she was able to present complex topics in a way that was both understandable and entertaining, impressing the audience.

This is Dr. Rochyadi-Reetz's second success at science slams - two years ago she won first place at the science slam during the international student week in Ilmenau (ISWI). Her publication on the framing of renewable energies in 11 countries can be viewed here:
