Successful completion of a PhD at a SUNRISE partner

Mr. Christoph Salomon conducted his dissertation between 2020 and 2025 under the joint supervision of Prof. Maria Lindén at Mälardalen University in Västerås, Sweden, and Dr.-Ing. Bojana Petković at TU Ilmenau. He successfully defended his dissertation, entitled "Advancements Towards Contactless Biomedical Microwave Applications", on 10 October 2025.

Mr. Salomon, from Mälardalen University, Sweden – one of the partner institutions in the SUNRISE university alliance – was scientifically advised on his doctoral work by our staff member, Dr. Petković, through biweekly consultations. The dissertation addressed questions regarding the method of equivalent sources for the calculation of electromagnetic near-fields at microwave frequencies. To coordinate further joint work, Mr. Salomon stayed at our department from 2 April 2024 to 12 April 2024.
