DEAL - Nationwide licensing of offers from major scientific publishers
On 01.04.2019, the TU Ilmenau joined the Germany-wide DEAL contract with the publisher Wiley. The DEAL project (www.projekt-deal.de) aims to conclude nationwide licence agreements for the entire portfolio of electronic journals (e-journals) of major scientific publishers and at the same time to promote the transformation to open access publishing in the long term.
For the TU Ilmenau the conclusion of the contract means
- Since the end of March 2019, all of the publishing house's approx. 1,500 journal titles, i.e. all articles published since 1997, can be accessed online across campus.
- All articles published in Wiley journals from July 1, 2019 onwards, where the Corresponding/Submitting Author is a member of an institution participating in the agreement, are freely accessible worldwide. For the scientists of the TU Ilmenau this means: With first authorship all articles submitted to Wiley and accepted from this date on will be published Open Access.
Wiley Publishers is the first publisher with whom a DEAL contract has been concluded. The contract is initially valid for the years 2019 to 2021 and negotiations with the publishers Springer Nature and Elsevier are ongoing.
If you have any questions about the Open Access component of the agreement, please contact the Open Access Officer of the TU Ilmenau, Dr. Blume (contact: email@example.com). If you have questions about the title portfolio, you can contact Dr. Trott (contact: firstname.lastname@example.org).
