Productive Teaming - People-Centered Future of Production

The vision of future production systems focuses on human-centered collaboration between people and machines. The goal is to establish a new generation of production systems in which humans and machines interact dynamically. This paradigm shift will enable the emergence of adaptive manufacturing processes, improved working conditions, higher sustainability and greater product individualization. To enable efficient teaming, fundamental elements must be considered: Observability of team partners, predictability, anticipation and adaptation to actions of team partners, and controllability manifested in dynamic mutual interaction of team partners.

This vision is to be realized in a cluster of excellence to be applied for together with the TU Chemnitz and the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg. The Electronic Media Technology group is engaged in Productive Teaming in the areas of spatial auditory attention measurement and guidance of humans to increase the mutual situational awareness of humans and machines. The department cooperates with the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg and is a member of the research network CHIM.
